About Us

Llosh Winne is a carpenter, bowl turner and cajon drum builder in North Kohala, on the Big Island of Hawai’i. Serving as an apprentice, Llosh learned to turn bowls from renowned, Hawai’i-based bowl turner Larry Zeidman. Llosh has worked with wood since he was a child in Homer, Alaska. Growing up on his dad’s forested property, Llosh spent his childhood days chopping firewood for their wood stove and exploring the trees, canyons, and wildlife on his father’s land. Llosh learned carpentry skills and the art of building with wood from his father, starting at the age of 7. In addition to turning bowls and building drums, Llosh is a carpenter and a musician. Llosh started his business, Llosh Winne Art and Design, in 2021 along with his wife and business partner, Lauren.

Our artisanal wood bowls are thoughtfully made, combining premium quality with precise craftsmanship. Our bowls are always made with local Hawaiian hardwoods, grown on Big Island. Llosh uses a lathe to hand-carve and sand the bowls out of wood logs, then he decorates them with fine gemstone inlay, including turquoise and lapis lazuli. We use the highest quality, chemical-free finishing products, including organic linseed oil and natural beeswax, which make our bowls food-safe. Our bowls are art pieces, perfect for table centerpieces, home decor items and statement pieces, and also make beautiful and functional salad bowls and serving dishes.
