This one-of-a-kind Manila palm wood bowl was handmade by professional bowl turner Llosh Winne on the Big Island of Hawaii. In Japanese kintsugi-inspired style, the wood artist repaired cracks and openings in the wood with beautiful blue-green turquoise precious gemstone inlay, offering a colorful, bright contrast to the natural black and tan of the palm wood.
The palm wood used for this bowl comes from a sustainably-sourced, locally-grown palm tree on the Island of Hawaii.
As a philosophy, Japanese kintsugi treats breakage and repair as an honorable and beautiful part of the history of an object that strengthens and enhances, rather than diminishes. More than just an art form, kintsugi teaches us that flaws and challenges are what make each of us unique and valuable. What’s broken can be healed.
Polished with organic linseed oil and natural beeswax, this bowl is food safe. This stunning, one-of-a-kind, artistic bowl would make an epic salad bowl, fruit bowl, table centerpiece, decorative item, or food serving bowl.
Also perfect for a home décor art piece, certain to beautify and add character to any setting.
